On May 17, 2018, the Clackamas County District Attorney’s office dismissed an indictment alleging an incident of Sex Abuse in the First Degree, a Measure 11 offense, against Per’s client.  The complainant had given multiple, inconsistent statements about the nature and circumstances of the incident that she claimed happened along a public street.   Through public records requests, Per discovered the complainant had several recent police contacts since the alleged incident that reflected negatively on her credibility, including one in which she hit a sheriff deputy in the head but was not charged.  After sharing our knowledge of this information with the prosecutor, the state dismissed “in the interest of justice.”
